In this comedy drama about life lessons, Jesse Fischer (Josh Radnor) is a 35-year-old college admissions officer in New York City who loves writing and literature but is newly single and dissatisfied with his life and career. He nostalgically believes his happiest times were the years he spent in college in Ohio, studying poetry and enjoying parties with others like him. When Jesse’s favorite former professor, Peter Holberg (Richard Jenkins), invites him back to the college to speak at the professor’s retirement dinner, Jesse jumps at the chance. What he doesn’t count on is meeting “Zibby” (Elizabeth Olsen), a precocious, classical music-loving drama student who awakens in Jesse long-dormant feelings of possibility and connection. But Zibby is 16 years younger than he is. “The script's musings on age, and on whether it is a tyranny, an irrelevance or both, form the [movie’s] subtle spine.” — Nigel Andrews, The Financial Times.
